United States Trade Representative Releases List of European Goods Subject to Additional Duty Rates
Following the World Trade Organization determination that the U.S. is allowed to impose up to $7.5 billion annually in countermeasures against the European Union due to subsidies provided to the aircraft manufacturer Airbus, the U.S. announced a hike in tariffs beginning October 18.
The U.S. is set to impose additional tariffs of 25% on more than 150 products imported from the EU countries, as well as an additional 10% on new aircraft from France, Germany, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
