Modifications to GSP

As of July 1, 2010, General Note 4 of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) affecting the duty-free treatment of certain articles under the Generalized System of Preference (GSP) has been changed.  The following product/country combinations are no longer eligible for duty-free treatment under GSP:

1605.20.05      Shrimp and prawn products containing fish meat      Thailand

4011.10.10      New pneumatic rubber radial tires                           Thailand

4409.29.05      Nonconiferous wood                                              Brazil

7113.19.21      Gold rope necklaces and neck                               India


The following products are now eligible for GSP preference from all GSP-eligible countries instead of only from Lesser-Developed Beneficiary Developing Countries (LDBDC’s):

0710.22.40      Frozen beans

0710.90.91      Frozen mixed vegetables
