Informal Entry Limit Increased and Certain Formal Entry Requirements Removed
In the Federal Register dated December 6, 2012, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced they are increasing the informal entry amount from $2,000 to $2,500. CBP has increased the limit to mitigate the effects of inflation.
CBP has also removed language that required a formal entry for certain articles formerly subject to absolute quotas under the Agreement on Textiles and Clothing.
