Foreign Trade Zone Board Recommends Prohibition of Merchandise Subject To AD/CVD in Proposed Subzones
The FTZB released preliminary staff recommendations for two export-only subzone applications that would prohibit admission of foreign status to silicon metal subject to AD/CVD cases. According to the FTZB, allowing access to foreign-origin silicon metal without the payment of AD/CVD duties would result in a decline in the U.S. price of silicon metal. This restriction would negate an essential FTZ feature.
