REVISED: FOOD SAFETY BILL TARGETS IMPORTERS AND CUSTOMS BROKERS OR FILERS
A discussion draft of a comprehensive bill, called the “Food Safety Enhancement Act of 2009” has been posted calling for registration and payment of an annual fee by importers and customs brokers or filers as a precondition to process imports of FDA-regulated products.
Any violation of this Act may result in suspension or cancellation if the information is not updated or contains false, incomplete or inaccurate information.
