Changes to the Lacy Act

On September 25, 2008 FHK sent a Trade Alert with information regarding the Lacey Act.

Among other things, this information stated “The Lacey Act now makes it unlawful to import, export, transport, sell, receive, acquire, or purchase in interstate or foreign commerce any plant, with some limited exceptions, taken in violation of the laws of a U.S. State, or any foreign law that protects plants.”

Phase 1 of the Lacey Act enforcement is scheduled to begin April 1, 2009.
