CBP Issues Final Rule to Discontinue Mailing Courtesy Liquidation Notices

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will discontinue mailing liquidation notices to importers of record whose entries are electronically filed via the Automated Broker Interface (ABI).   All ABI filers will receive electronic notices and all importers of record with an Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) secure data portal account can access liquidation information by using the reporting tool in ACE. This will become effective on or after September 30, 2011, when CBP is capable of providing this information electronically through the ACE portal.

The final rule may be viewed in the Federal Register dated August 17, 2011.
