CBP Contigency Plans in Case of Longshoremen Strike Affecting East and Gulf Coast Ports

 

A possible Longshoremen strike would cause major delays and diversions of vessels arriving and departing at East and Gulf Ports.  In preparation for this event, CBP has established general guidelines for vessel, cargo and entry procedures outlined in their Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #12-000581.
